Hi, I own a 2014 Capo Travel Pack and had a resonator kit installed last year. Best thing I have ever done to that bike.
Now Austria (just a few kilometers away frow where I live) issued road bans on some streets on bikes louder than 95 dB. Mine is 96.
Question: Does the resonator already cancel some of the noise or do I need an additional bB eater? Is there even one on the market and how much power will it take away? Thanks for any advice.
 
I heard that Austria Police only looking into the papers, not checking the real noise....so, even the bike is quieter, Police will send you back.....after taking the 200 Euro fine...
But another question.... I have a 1200 Caponord Rallye and heard first time about this resonator kit.... what is the change you discovered? More smoothly in lower rotation speed? If yes, is cruising between 2000 and 3500 U/min more comfortable?

I think the Ralley had it already installed from the start. It was a flaw in engine setup of the earlier 1200 V2 they tried to fix this way. It works to some degree - still far from being really smoothed out - but its ok. Some hate it because "it takes the character away" but i love it. Best thing i have ever done to the bike. Wayyy more smoth in low revs around town or village, tight bends or traffic. You can also read up here: Forum - Aprilia Shiver Forum

I had a 14 model 1200TP that I bought new in 2015 and rode 39,000kms in 2 years before being seduced to the dark side at KTM (1290SDGT).

I had the above-mentioned throttle hic-up/jerk when my Capo12 was very new, but by 12,000kms it was way less noticeable, and by 15,000kms I had forgotten about it. My 1200 was super smooth to ride from then on.... total bliss..... I don't know if the mechanics adjusted the RBW throttle cables, or changed a map setting, or the bike just needed to run in fully. I still had the ex-up valve when I traded it...... and no dongles or other non standard stuff.

My Capo only went in for the specified services (10,000kms, 20k kms, 30k kms......) so I don't think anything was adjusted (otherwise i would have noticed immediately after the 10k km service), so i think it just came good over time, and was so beautiful to ride once it did settle down - however, I put a 16 tooth front sprocket on mine to correct the stupid tall gearing. Maybe that might help you get through the wear-in period by keeping the revs up a little bit more at low speeds (instead of riding in 1st or 2nd gear in slow city traffic). I also kept my chain at the specified 25mm adjustment as my Capo didn't like running with a slightly loose chain(eg 30mm) when it was new........ Maybe the RBW throttles were too sensitive under 3k rpm and would cause a backlash through the gearbox/chain that resulted in a surge........ anyway, when I traded mine in it was genuinely PERFECT and had been super smooth since 12,000kms.........

I didn't have an exhaust equalizer on my Capo12 - I really liked it without it, and mine ran much cooler than those that had the equalizer - they complained bitterly about excessive heat whereas mine was fine, even on a stinking hot Australian summers day......sure, it got warm at the catalizer when I put my right foot down too close to the pipe, but it was nothing to complain about.

What a pity Aprilia didn't continue to develop this model..... it was a world beater when it was new...... imagine how much better it would be now if it hadn't been discontinued back in 2016......

PS Give that engine heaps - don't baby it or it will never run in!
