....... Maaate....... the SDGT is AWESOME
The Capo12 is super comfy and that ADD suspension is the best, but the poor old Dorso 1200 donk puts out only 125 cshp (= 105hp rear wheel) whereas the 1290 humps out 173cshp (=150 rear wheel) and weighs 30kg less than Mr Comfy.
However, the GT is much more sport bike that can tour vs Capo12's touring bike that can sport........ but the red bike does look heaps more sexy than the functional but errrr different Austrian styling
.... hehheh.... when I say sport I mean superbike sport...... fk me the Gt is quick.....
Both bikes fit my specs (min 100hp, 400kms range, fueled up weight not > 260kg, but obviously 233kg wet for the GT is a delight vs the TP at 260kg wet). The GT's single headlight is also way better than capo's tripple lamp..... but you won't spend any time admiring the GT from the front......
.
I'd have kept my TP if the Aus dealerships hadn't collapsed after the new importer decided to screw them over and also not buy the Aus parts warehouse stock....... though I would have ended up on a 2018/19 GT as my Capo would have had 70/80k kms on it by now.......
Try not to get frightened by all the complaints in the 2014-2017 forum..... some UK and US owners just couldn't stop whinging, so much so I reckon Aprilia canned the model and tried to blame Euro4 to be polite.....
.
Oh yeahhh, if anything comes loose in the first 2000kms - Loctite it and you'll have no further issue with it (but be sensitive to alloy screws and threads by not over tightening and stripping threads eh
).
nearly forgot..... my panniers were difficult to latch on initially, then I read a post from a US guy and adjusted the latch lug near the foot rest and it was a breeze from then on...... try to find my posts as there are some tricks to getting it right (or the pannier might fall off while riding).
Cheers and best wishes from Aus
