Well, I couldn't help myself... Hello all! My name's Bertie Simmonds and I'm editor of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics in the UK...
In our July issue (out third Wednesday of June) we featured a Gen.1 Tuono Racing and I generically wrote a road-test about my many happy hours on Tuonos over the years...
Then - in the warm glow of memories and three glasses of vino, what did I do?
Yup... you guessed it...
Pick it up tomorrow! It's scabby, it's got a fair few miles on it, but - well - I couldn't resist!
So, part one of Project Aprilia Tuono begins in the August issue! (Out third Weds of July) I was lucky enough to go on the Gen.2 launch of the Mille at Mugello, so know of the designer of that and the Gen.2 Tuono Martin Longmore - he's got some interesting info as to what he WANTED to design as to what Aprilia wanted tweaking.
Clearly the bike needs a good look at (AP Performance) and tidying up! It was running Beowulf pipes, but now standard - but would love to hear what pipes you think work.
Bertie
