Hello all,
I've just joined the forum and thought I should introduce myself.

I haven't got a Tuono yet, but I'm really interested in getting one. My previous bike was my first experience of a naked bike, and I loved the engine and handling but in the end I had to move it on as the ride was just way too hard. I'm not sure whether it was the geometry of the bike or the springs, or way too much compression damping. Its suspension was Ohlins Nix 30 and TTX36. By way of comparison, my previous 2012 Fireblade gave a lovely supple ride.

So I'm hoping for a view from the forum as to how the Tuono handles a bumpy road. I expect it to be sporty, but does it soak up bumps or does it deliver them as a hammer blow through the body of the rider?

Interested to see your views,
Richard

Hi, I only have experienced Kawa Z800 ride, having owned her for 6 years. Tuono definitely rides much, much better than the Z800. You can feel every small bump on the Kawa, while Tuono glides over it.

Hi and welcome, which model are you thinking about?
in general I think you'll find that for road riding the base model is a better option. The Ohlins suspension generally favours track riders

I am thinking about the 2019 Factory because it has the semi active suspension, and according to the specs it also has 5mm extra travel in the front forks. 125mm vs 120mm for the R.

Don't think you'll be disappointed with the factory.

I don't do track but in my experience having premium suspension is well worth the extra cost.

I had an 08 factory T and it handled brilliantly.

Moved to a 1290 Superduke and the suspension was utter ****, ended up forking out £800 for a rear shock which improved the handling a wee bit.

Had I kept the machine my next move would have been fork cartridges which would have cost me £1400 plus whatever for setup and fitting.

Currently have a Monster 1200 R,,,,,,,,that comes with Ohlins and forged wheels and it handles nearly as well as ma old Tuono.

Yer paying extra for the adjustability of the Ohilns but imo it's well worth it.

Thanks Aldo, that's good to know. I have actually taken the plunge and put a deposit on a pre registered Factory. I'm collecting it at the weekend, and can't wait! I'll post a photo when I get it home.
