Which slip on

Hi, I have decided to put a slip on muffler on my 2015 Tuono V4R (1000cc model) and I have narrowed the choice down to either the Mivv GP Steel Black Exhaust MIVV Aprilia Tuono V4 10 14 GP Steel Black A008LXB | eBay or the Arrow GP2 Dark 71009GPI Exhaust Muffler Arrow GP2 Stainless Steel Dark Aprilia RSV4 '09 13 | eBay. I need some help trying to decide between the two because if I go with the Arrow (which is my preference for looks, just) I will have to purchase the Race Tuner or map my ECU. If I go for the Mivv I can buy it loaded with a catalytic converter & DB killer and leave the ECU standard. My questions are - 1. Can anyone tell me what the Mivv sounds like with the CC & DB killer in place ? 2. Will it still be louder than standard with the CC & DB killer ? I hope so ! 3. Can I expect the bike to run well with the Mivv & standard ECU ?

hello and welcome to this forum, when I put a Scorpian can on mine it created a flat spot in the midrange, never tried it without a db killer in and I think it would be worse still due to the better breathing. for this reason I have sent my ecu off to Gabro for remapping. The Scorpian can(according to manufacturers web site) does not need a race map but imo it ran pretty ****. From what I have read on the web( so it must be real eh?) the finish on the Mivv pipes is not the greatest, if I hadn't got the Scorpian can off a member here I would have bought a GP2 as they look awesome, but with hindsight I would allow to get the race ecu or send your ecu to gab for tuning.

Thanks for the welcome & the info Dave. I am surprised to hear you say that the finish on the Mivv pipes is not that good ? Can you elaborate about what you mean because most things I have read about the Mivv say that they are a quality made exhaust. I'm not arguing with you but I am interested in why you have that opinion. I live in Australia and my bike is still under warranty so sending the ECU to Gabro is not an option but I can get the Race ECU here for $485 AU which isn't too bad.

I read a few responses on various forums about quality and customer services, also one report of a bracket breaking but that was not on a Tuono so shouldn't be a problem. End of the day you pay your money and take the chance, I prefer the gp2 can but it's not my bike it's being fitted to.

I ran a Mivv GP on my v4 for a while and its not a bad exhaust , sounded good .
Now ive got an Arrow race tech on and the Arrow is by far the better exhaust , more midrange , better built .... too loud with baffle out for me so i cut down the baffle until i got it just right ....
Just my opinion though .

Thanks Bash, it is one of the slip on's I was considering because I like the way it mounts without using the pillion bracket. What do you think of the sound & are you running it with the DB killer & the Race ECU or race map ? I am a bit concerned about running a slip on without the race map because my bike is still under warranty. Also, I noticed a small bracket where the muffler mounts and wondered if this can move vertically in time with vibration etc, or is something locking it into place ?

Thanks shotgun but I am looking for a smaller slip on than the Race Tech.
 
runs perfect on standard ecu and run without any baffles..sounds superb not too loud
 
Thanks Bash, what do you think of all the talk regarding having to run a race map because the Tuono runs very lean from the factory. My concern is that the bike may run well short term but do damage long term ? Do you get any popping through the exhaust when you back off ? What year is your bike ?
